Gilad Erdan Rejects Coalition with Yair Golan, Calls for Broad Zionist Government

Gilad Erdan, following the official announcement of his new political party, outlined his party's main goal as preventing the formation of a narrow government. In a radio interview on Galei Yisrael with Sharon Gal, Erdan emphasized the importance of establishing a broad Zionist government that includes representation from both political blocs in Israel. He argued that only such a government could enact significant judicial reforms with wide agreement, as narrow governments tend to impose their views on the opposition.

When repeatedly asked about his preferred candidate for prime minister, Erdan refused to commit to any individual, including Benjamin Netanyahu, Benny Gantz, or Naftali Bennett. He stated that his party's priority is to ensure a broad coalition rather than choosing sides. Erdan also stressed that his personal preferences are irrelevant to the upcoming elections, as his focus is on fostering unity and shared responsibility in governance.

However, Erdan drew a clear red line regarding coalition partners. He categorically ruled out joining a government led by Benny Gantz and Yair Golan, stating, "I absolutely do not intend to sit in a government with Yair Golan." He reiterated his commitment to avoiding narrow governments and promoting cooperation between the two major political camps.
