Former Beit Shemesh Mayor Aliza Bloch Joins Gilad Erdan’s New Party

As part of political preparations ahead of upcoming elections, Dr. Aliza Bloch, former mayor of Beit Shemesh, has joined the new party established by former minister and ambassador Gilad Erdan. This announcement follows the recent inclusion of MK Yuli Edelstein in the party's leadership team.

In recent weeks, Bloch engaged in discussions with Likud officials who reportedly attempted to prevent Erdan’s political moves by offering her a secured spot on the Likud list. Despite these overtures, Bloch chose to align with Erdan’s initiative, aiming to lead its social and educational agenda.

Bloch lost her mayoral position in the last municipal elections and her joining Erdan’s party is seen as an effort to capture the "state-oriented right" political space. Likud’s attempt to recruit her was perceived as a strategic move to undermine Erdan’s emerging party, but Bloch declined and committed to the new political project.
