Despite a mixed tenure with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he averaged 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in the EuroLeague, Walker is receiving praise in the United States. The American site TWSN described his signing as a "steal," highlighting that Denver acquired a high-quality scorer at a low cost. At 27 years old, Walker is seen as a player with significant potential to contribute further.

TWSN emphasized that one of Denver's main challenges this season is generating scoring off the bench, especially during Nikola Jokić's rest periods. Walker is expected to provide elite scoring ability, capable of creating his own shots and playing effectively without the ball. Playing alongside Jokić could also enhance his efficiency, as has been the case for other players joining the Nuggets.
