Brother Alleges Abuse of Wounded Israeli Soldier at Hospital in Lebanon

David Chesterman, brother of an Israeli soldier severely injured in Lebanon, revealed disturbing allegations of abuse his brother endured at a hospital. The soldier suffered serious burns over 40% of his body after an explosion and was under sedation and ventilation for two days. Upon awakening on Friday, Chesterman described a hostile night shift during which medical staff allegedly neglected and mistreated his brother and other wounded soldiers.

Chesterman recounted that on Friday night, hospital staff removed family members from the room under the pretext of an urgent resuscitation for a new patient, which later proved false. After waiting outside for hours, he forced open the door to find his brother in distress, whispering for water with no medical attention being given. The following day, the soldier told his wife he had been abused, describing being roughly handled and his head hitting the bed while nurses ignored his pain.

Chesterman expressed concern that his brother, still disoriented, was surrounded only by Arabic speakers without any military or security personnel present to protect the wounded. He emphasized that his criticism targeted only a specific hostile night shift and did not diminish the dedication of other medical staff, including Arab nurses who were exemplary. The program host, Yinon Magal, strongly condemned the alleged mistreatment, calling the perpetrators "scoundrels." The incident has sparked outrage and calls for accountability at the hospital.
