Former PM Bennett Pushes To Merge With Hili Trooper's Party Amid Poll Decline

Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is actively trying to bring Hili Trooper and members of the "Beit Tzioni" list into his "Beyachad" party, according to a report on Sunday evening. Despite ongoing talks, no agreement has yet been reached. Bennett views this potential merger as a lifeline due to Beyachad's steady drop in the polls and the collapse of a possible alliance with Gadi Eisenkot's "Yashar" party.

Bennett has proposed a full merger between the two lists, but Trooper is also considering joining Eisenkot's party. About a month ago, Trooper agreed to run jointly with the Reservists' party led by Yoaz Hendel, aiming to form a broad Zionist government. While this alliance has passed the electoral threshold in some polls, the latest Channel 13 news survey shows them falling below the threshold again.
