Reality Star Nitzan Shick Reveals Traumatic Postpartum Health Crisis After Birth of Son

Two and a half weeks after giving birth to her first son, Ori, at age 38, reality TV star Nitzan Shick opened up about the severe health challenges she faced following delivery. Shick, known from the fourth season of "Married at First Sight," described a difficult postpartum period marked by worsening symptoms and intense pain. Despite her mother's urging, she initially attributed her discomfort to normal post-birth recovery and delayed seeking medical help.

Her condition deteriorated until an ophthalmologist examining her son noticed her pale appearance and urgently recommended she visit the emergency room. There, doctors discovered her hemoglobin had dropped to 6.9 and she had developed a serious uterine infection. Shick was hospitalized for a week, receiving blood transfusions and antibiotics, separated from her newborn who was cared for by her mother and grandmother.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Shick called the experience traumatic and emphasized the importance of listening to one's body and having a support system after childbirth. She shared photos of herself in the hospital, expressing gratitude for the care she received and relief at her current recovery at home. Shick also mentioned continuing to bond with her son, including breastfeeding, after their time apart.
