19-Year-Old Assaulted by Group of Teens in Eilat During Vacation

A 19-year-old Israeli man was violently attacked by a group of about 20 teenagers in Eilat during a vacation with friends. The incident occurred early Thursday morning on the city’s promenade after a confrontation began when a teenage girl asked the victim and his friends for a cigarette. After the victim refused, tensions escalated when the girl’s boyfriend called his friends, leading to a physical assault. The victim recalled being kicked repeatedly while on the ground, with one attacker reportedly holding a knife.

Emergency medical services evacuated the young man to Yoseftal Hospital, where he underwent a CT scan and was initially released. However, due to persistent severe pain, he was later admitted to Laniado Hospital in Netanya for further treatment. The victim’s father described the attack as "shocking" and "unbearable," emphasizing that it could have ended in murder. He also noted that bystanders who filmed the attack were threatened and forced to delete their recordings.

The Israeli police launched an investigation immediately after the report. Six minor suspects were arrested and brought before the Eilat Magistrate’s Court, which released them under restrictive conditions including house arrest. Police plan to request an extension of these conditions in a follow-up hearing. The investigation is ongoing to identify all involved and ensure accountability.
