Former Itamar Ben-Gvir Advisor Joins Gilad Erdan's New Right-Wing Party

Itamar Sassover, a former communications advisor to National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, has joined the newly formed right-wing party led by Gilad Erdan and former MK Yuli Edelstein. Erdan announced the party's establishment last Thursday, sharply criticizing the Likud party, which he left after more than 30 years, saying he could no longer consider it his political home. He accused Likud representatives of no longer representing their voters and pledged that his new party would not join any narrow coalition government.

Erdan emphasized his lifelong commitment to right-wing values, including support for Israeli settlements and opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state. He called for restoring responsibility, internal discipline, and mutual respect to the right-wing camp, while rejecting left-wing ideologies but maintaining respect for political opponents. He identified Israel's true enemies as being in Tehran, Gaza, and Lebanon.

The move follows a split several months ago when two strategic advisors to Ben-Gvir, Moshe Glasner and Itamar Sassover, resigned to establish a joint strategic services firm. Sassover's shift to Erdan's party marks a notable realignment within Israel's right-wing political landscape.
