Chef Eyal Shani Takes Over Asif Restaurant Amid Major Changes

The iconic Asif restaurant in Tel Aviv is undergoing significant transformation as it prepares to close and reopen under the leadership of renowned chef Eyal Shani. The current team, led by chef Omer Shaham who has shaped the well-known Cafe Asif, will depart this fall. The revamped restaurant, named Asif by Eyal Shani, aims to become a flagship venue with a distinctly Israeli culinary perspective, reflecting contemporary Israeli culture and exploring new gastronomic expressions. Asif's management expressed deep gratitude to Shaham and his team for their creativity and dedication in establishing the restaurant's unique identity.

In addition to the changes at Asif, another major development involves Shani's flagship restaurant, North Abrakess, a beloved Tel Aviv institution on Lilienblum Street. Due to an impending extensive renovation or urban renewal project of the building housing North Abrakess, the restaurant will be forced to relocate. Shani's management is actively searching for a suitable new location in the city to ensure the restaurant's continued operation without disruption.
