Maccabi Tel Aviv Finalizes Squad with Key Signings Ahead of EuroLeague Season

Maccabi Tel Aviv announced the completion of its roster for the upcoming season following the signing of Keaton Wallace, as confirmed by club chairman Shimon Mizrahi. The current squad includes 16 players, with 12 expected to participate in the EuroLeague opener against Villeurbanne. The team features six guards, though none are natural shooting guards (position 2), a noted gap that most players can cover. Four players from last season remain: Ophir Lundberg, John DiBartolomeo, Jimmy Clark, and Amit Abo, who recently extended his contract. They are joined by newcomers Yam Madar and Keaton Wallace, who replaces Loney Walker.

The forward positions are staffed by five players, most continuing from last season. Oshae Brissett signed a two-year extension, while Will Rayman and Jalen Hood-Schifino renewed contracts during last season. Bonzi Colson returned after two years in Turkey, and Gur Lavi, signed through 2025, will miss the start due to a knee injury. The frontcourt includes five players, mostly new additions: Daniel Teisse, Armando Bacot, and Shane Hunter, who returned from loan and will play only if Rayman is unavailable. They join Roman Sorkin, whose contract status is pending, and TJ Leaf, sidelined with injury and unlikely to start the season.

Maccabi Tel Aviv will begin training on August 20 and has scheduled four preseason games: two in Israel against Bnei Herzliya and Maccabi Rishon LeZion, and two in Cyprus against Aris Thessaloniki and Olympiacos. The team will then face Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Super Cup on September 16.
