Itamar Ben-Gvir Accuses Left of Plotting Government Deal with Muslim Brotherhood After Yoav Segalovich's Resignation

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir sharply criticized the resignation of Knesset member Yoav Segalovich from the Yesh Atid party, alleging it is part of a left-wing conspiracy to facilitate forming a future government with the Islamist party Ra'am. Segalovich submitted his resignation letter to Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, effective within 48 hours, amid reports he may join Ra'am. Segalovich stated his intention to continue public activity through other means.

Ben-Gvir claimed the left's plan involves Segalovich receiving the National Security Ministry to reverse policies against terrorists, halt enforcement in the Negev, and disarm Jewish residents. He further alleged Ra'am leader Mansour Abbas would be granted the Ministry for Negev and Galilee Development to channel billions to terror supporters and transform these regions into Muslim territories. Ben-Gvir condemned the left for being willing to "sell Israel's security, the Negev, and the Galilee" in pursuit of unchecked political power.

The controversy highlights deep political tensions ahead of the 2026 elections, with accusations centering on cooperation with the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Ra'am party. Segalovich's resignation and potential alliance with Ra'am mark a significant development in Israel's fractious political landscape.
