The American basketball website HoopsHype recently published a ranking of the 80 greatest international players in NBA history, including Israeli player Danny Avdija. Avdija was placed 75th on the list, ahead of notable players such as Bogdan Bogdanovic, Lou Dort, J.J. Barea, Sven Nater, and Deandre Ayton. He is one of three new entrants this year, alongside Ivica Zubac and Dillon Brooks.

HoopsHype explained that their ranking primarily considers players' NBA achievements rather than potential or international (FIBA) success. Regarding Avdija, they highlighted his impressive breakout last season, noting his averages of 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists during the 2025/26 season, which earned him Western Conference All-Star recognition. The site speculated on whether this performance was a one-time peak or the start of sustained excellence, suggesting that if Avdija continues to improve, he could climb the rankings rapidly.

The top 10 players remained unchanged from the previous year, led by Hakeem Olajuwon, Dirk Nowitzki, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Rising star Victor Wembanyama was ranked 50th but is expected to ascend in future years. The list features international stars from various countries, reflecting the global impact on the NBA.
