Defense Minister appoints Brig. Gen. Hisham Ibrahim as military secretary
Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Sunday that he has appointed Brig. Gen. Hisham Ibrahim, currently head of the Civil Administration, to serve as his military secretary. The Defense Ministry said Katz informed IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir of the decision.
Ibrahim, who is from the Druze community, has held a series of senior posts in the IDF. His past roles include chief armored corps officer, commander of the 460th and 205th brigades, and deputy commander of Division 91.
According to the report, Katz interviewed several candidates during the selection process. After speaking with Ibrahim and following the chief of staff’s recommendation, he chose Ibrahim for the position.
Katz congratulated Ibrahim and said he was certain he would succeed in the important role “in a challenging and significant security period for the State of Israel.” Ibrahim is set to take up the post immediately.
