Brig. Gen. Guy Markizano Promoted to Major General, Replaces Roman Gofman as Prime Minister’s Military Secretary
The handover ceremony for the prime minister’s military secretary was held at the Kirya in the presence of the prime minister, the defense minister and the chief of staff. Major General Roman Gofman, who has been appointed head of the Mossad, completed his two-year tenure and was replaced by Major General Guy Markizano.
The ceremony took place yesterday, Tuesday, at the Rabin Camp in the Kirya, where Brig. Gen. Guy Markizano was promoted to the rank of major general and took over from Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman. Gofman served in the role over the past two years and began his new post as head of the Mossad last week. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, as well as members of the General Staff Forum, commanders and family members.
