Iranian Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Reportedly in Critical Condition After US Strike

Two sources close to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told the opposition site IranWire that Mojtaba Khamenei, the third Supreme Leader of Iran, has not met with any cabinet members since the US airstrike on the Supreme Leader's compound on February 28, which killed his father and other family members. The sources said rumors are widespread within the highest levels of the regime that Mojtaba Khamenei is in extremely critical condition and may die at any moment. Since assuming his position, he has not appeared publicly or delivered speeches, with only a few letters attributed to him published by official Iranian news agencies. This prolonged absence has fueled speculation about his health and survival. A source close to Raisi’s cabinet confirmed that no cabinet member has met with him and described his physical state as poor, adding, "We would not be surprised if we soon hear news of his holy death." These reports have not been confirmed by other sources.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced the arrest of 21 individuals accused of connections to Mossad and four others linked to armed groups in Kerman province. According to an official statement reported by the Iranian news channel ISNA, the 21 detainees allegedly collected and transmitted sensitive military and air defense information to Mossad. The ministry also reported seizing several military and hunting weapons along with ammunition from the four armed suspects.

These developments come amid heightened tensions following the US strike and ongoing concerns about internal security and intelligence breaches within Iran.
