Man Arrested for Threatening Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan Police Chief in WhatsApp Group

A 44-year-old resident of Modi'in Illit was arrested on suspicion of posting threatening messages against the commander of the Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan police station in a WhatsApp group. The arrest followed an investigation initiated at the Masu'ot police station after authorities received information about the threatening messages directed at the police chief. The suspect was located and detained yesterday, then transferred for questioning at the Masu'ot station before being remanded in custody. On Thursday morning, he appeared before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, which extended his detention until Sunday, August 9. The investigation is ongoing. Police emphasized the seriousness with which they treat threats against officers and public officials and stated their commitment to prosecuting anyone attempting to intimidate law enforcement during their duties.
