Bomb Explodes at Under-Construction Rami Levy Store in Ramla Amid Crime Wave

Early Thursday morning around 4:30 AM, a pipe bomb exploded near the entrance of a Rami Levy Stock store under construction in Ramla. The police launched an investigation, considering among the motives a dispute with other stock network operators. The store was scheduled to open soon. No injuries were reported, but minor damage occurred to the store entrance. No extortion demands had been received from criminals prior to the incident.

In a separate incident, a grenade was thrown at a residential building in the upscale Tzameret neighborhood of northern Tel Aviv, marking the second such event this week. This attack caused minor damage to a window but no injuries. Police from the Yarkon district and bomb disposal units from Tel Aviv began investigating the criminal background of the event.

Additional explosions suspected to involve grenades occurred overnight in Herzliya near a well-known business, causing no damage or injuries, and in Haifa’s Danya neighborhood, where a grenade caused damage to vehicles but no casualties. Both incidents are under criminal investigation.

Last night, police arrested an 18-year-old from Rehovot suspected of involvement in the arson of a Japnika branch in Givatayim last month. Another suspect from Rehovot in his 20s had been arrested earlier. The recent arrest was extended until August 11.

These events are part of an escalating wave of violence linked to organized crime conflicts, including grenade attacks, shootings, and arsons, often targeting Japnika branches. Authorities suspect the incidents are connected to a feud between the Musli and Jarushi crime families, with attempts to harm the restaurant chain owned by businessman Barak Abramov. About three weeks ago, Yossi Musli, head of the Musli crime organization, was arrested for involvement in this grenade war tied to financial disputes with the Jarushi group.
