Israeli security agencies have expressed concern over a broader scope of Iranian espionage activities within Israel, warning that additional cases may remain undiscovered. The concern follows a series of arrests involving Israeli citizens, including reserve soldiers in sensitive positions, accused of spying for Iran. One notable case involves a couple from Ashkelon, Tarmilen Amshukov and Alina Kushnirko, who allegedly conducted surveillance of Israeli sites for Iranian handlers. Among the locations they filmed were homes of individuals in the defense industry and the Jabotinsky grave on Mount Herzl, shortly before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site for a memorial.
