MK Limor Son Har-Melech Calls to Disqualify Ra'am from Israeli Parliament Following Channel 14 Investigation

MK Limor Son Har-Melech of the Otzma Yehudit party responded to a comprehensive investigative report by Channel 14 journalist Omri Haim about Mansour Abbas, leader of the Ra'am party. In a post on social media platform X on August 6, 2026, she praised the investigation titled "Mansour Abbas, The Polite Jihad," and asserted that Ra'am should be disqualified from running in the Knesset elections, stating, "It is time to draw a clear red line."

Son Har-Melech highlighted that over recent years, she and MK Tzvika Fogel, chair of the National Security Committee, have reviewed evidence and documents indicating close ties between Ra'am, the Islamic Movement, and terrorist organizations hostile to Israel. She argued that beneath Ra'am’s civilian rhetoric lies an ideological worldview promoting nationalist and Islamist interests within state institutions.

She condemned statements by Ra'am members who refer to Israel as "the Zionist enemy," deny the Jewish people's right to Jerusalem, or express support for Hamas, describing these as not mere political disagreements but as outright denial of Israel’s existence. Son Har-Melech called on the judiciary to stop treating Ra'am as a legitimate party, emphasizing that anyone collaborating with terrorist organizations should be barred from Knesset candidacy. She also warned that political blocs including Ra'am bear public and moral responsibility for such alliances.

The investigation by Omri Haim and Channel 14, supported by the "Choosing Life" forum of bereaved families and terror victims, aims to expose connections between Islamist elements and terrorist groups, presenting a full picture to the public.
