Nova Exceeds Wall Street Expectations with Record Chip Testing Equipment Sales
Nova, a manufacturer of testing equipment for the semiconductor industry, surpassed Wall Street forecasts for both revenue and net earnings per share in the second quarter. The company reported record revenues of $255 million, beating the average analyst estimate of $250 million and marking a 16% increase from approximately $220 million in the same quarter last year. Nova also posted a non-GAAP earnings per share of $2.51, exceeding the analyst consensus of $2.41 and representing a 14% rise compared to the previous year and an 8% increase from the prior quarter.
The company achieved record revenues in its processor segment, driven by the transition to Gate-All-Around technology and strong demand for advanced generation chips. Additionally, Nova set a revenue record in advanced packaging solutions due to expanded production capacity in processors and memory sectors. Its stock has risen about 22% year-to-date and 53% over the past year, with a market capitalization of approximately $13 billion.
Looking ahead, Nova projects third-quarter revenues between $277 million and $287 million and expects diluted non-GAAP earnings per share in the range of $2.70 to $2.85. President and CEO Gabi Wiseman described the quarter as a significant milestone, highlighting strong sales across multiple product lines, including chemical metrology for front-end processes and Centronics dimensional measurement solutions for advanced packaging. He emphasized ongoing market share growth, deepening partnerships with leading chip manufacturers, and confidence in delivering another year of profitable growth.
