Veteran Guard Freddy Burdion Signs with Hapoel Tel Aviv for Upcoming Season

Hapoel Tel Aviv announced on August 6, 2026, the signing of 35-year-old guard Freddy Burdion for the 2026/27 basketball season. Standing 1.93 meters tall, Burdion joins the team after starting the previous season with Maccabi Ramat Gan and later transferring to Bnei Herzliya. Across both teams, he appeared in 15 games, averaging 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, shooting 44.0% from two-point range and 90.3% from the free-throw line.

Burdion began his professional career in France, playing for Antibes in two separate stints, as well as for Chalon, Etoile Charleville, and Rouen. He then moved to Israel, where he played for several teams including Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Eilat, Maccabi Rishon LeZion, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Holon, Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan, and Bnei Herzliya. Throughout his career, he has won two Israeli championships, the French Cup, and the Balkan League.

After signing, Burdion expressed enthusiasm about joining Hapoel Tel Aviv, calling it one of Europe's top clubs and looking forward to playing in front of its fans.
