Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Awaits Opening After Mixed Wall Street Session
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange is set to open following a mixed trading session on Wall Street, which saw significant declines in technology stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.5%, while the S&P 500 fell by 0.2% and the Nasdaq dropped 0.8%. Oil prices experienced moderate declines of up to 0.5%. The yield on the 10-year US Treasury bond remained steady at 4.61%, while the 10-year Israeli bond yield stood at 3.81%.
NICE returned to trading with a positive arbitrage of over 3% after a 5.8% drop the previous day in response to its financial reports. Conversely, Tower Semiconductor re-entered the Tel Aviv market with a negative gap of 4.5%, and Nova was down 2.4%. Non-bank credit company Yaakov Finance released its financial results today, alongside Ormat and Nova.
In corporate news, the Menora Evergreen investment fund is acquiring a 30% stake in Argil Group, a company operating in infrastructure and construction, for an estimated 300 million shekels. Menora Evergreen also has an option to increase its holding to 40%. Argil produces and markets aggregates for the construction industry, including cement, plaster, asphalt mixtures, and quarry materials.
Yesterday, the Tel Aviv market closed lower with the TA-35 and TA-125 indices down 0.7%, and the TA Banks index falling 1.6%. Bank Hapoalim declined 2.1%, while Mizrahi Tefahot and Discount Bank each dropped 2%. The Oil and Gas index fell 2%, the Cleantech index plunged 3.2%, and the Infrastructure and Energy index lost 3.5%. El Al stood out with a 15% jump following its earnings report.
