Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Opens Following Wall Street's Record Highs
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) is set to open for the final trading day of the week following a positive close on Wall Street, where the S&P 500 reached an all-time high. On Thursday, the Dow Jones rose by 0.1%, Nasdaq climbed 0.8%, and the S&P 500 increased by 0.7%, surpassing 7,800 points for the first time.
In Israel, the main indices have shown gains since the start of the week, with the TA-35 up 1.1%, TA-125 rising 0.5%, TA Banks increasing 2.2%, and TA Oil & Gas jumping 2.4%, supported by rising global oil prices. However, sector-specific indices showed mixed results: TA Real Estate fell 1.9%, TA Insurance dropped 2.3%, TA Construction declined 4.1%, and TA Security shares fell sharply by 6.3%.
Following today's market close, Israel will release July inflation data. Analysts expect the Consumer Price Index to show a 0.4% monthly increase after June's stagnation, and a 1.6% annual rise, consistent with the previous month.
Yesterday's trading ended with gains amid the ongoing second-quarter earnings season. The TA-35 rose 0.3%, TA-125 gained 0.5%, TA Banks added 0.9%, TA Real Estate increased 1.1%, TA Oil & Gas climbed 1.7%, and TA Communication & IT surged 2.1%. Notable stock movements included Tadiran jumping 10%, Energix up 1.9%, NewMed rising 3.3%, Isracard down 0.5%, Discount Bank up 1%, Melisron down 0.8%, Brainway increasing 6.5%, and Hyper Global soaring 12.7%.
Energy company Nofar Energy surged 7.5%, and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange's own shares jumped 8.1% following its ongoing buyback program, which included purchasing 90,000 shares off-exchange for 10.1 million shekels.
