Lonnie Walker Returns to NBA, Signs One-Year Deal with Denver Nuggets

After spending a season with Maccabi Tel Aviv and a summer searching for a new team, Lonnie Walker has agreed to a one-year contract with the Denver Nuggets, earning $3.3 million. Although Walker had a buyout clause from Maccabi Tel Aviv to return to the NBA that expired three weeks ago, the Israeli club extended it to allow him to exercise the option. In exchange, Walker waived his contract rights for the next two years before joining Nikola Jokic's team in the NBA. Last season, Walker averaged 15.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in the EuroLeague.

This announcement came less than a day after Maccabi Tel Aviv signed Kition Wallace to a two-year contract to strengthen their backcourt. Wallace, a 27-year-old guard standing 1.91 meters tall, played the last two NBA seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. In the 2025/26 season, he averaged 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 10 minutes per game, shooting 37.3% from three-point range. During his rookie season in 2024/25, Wallace posted averages of 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 16 minutes per game. He had notable performances that year, including a career-high 27 points against the Chicago Bulls and his first NBA triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists in a win over the Orlando Magic.
