Netanyahu Leaves Herzl Ancestors' Burial Ceremony Early Due to Urgent Military and Political Events

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unexpectedly left the burial ceremony of his grandfather and grandmother, Rivka and Shimon Herzl, early on Tuesday. At the start of his speech, Netanyahu informed attendees that urgent military and political matters required his departure before the event concluded. He explained, "We are in the midst of military and political events," referencing the escalating security situation on Israel's northern border and other complex arenas.

During his remarks, Netanyahu highlighted the significant achievements Israel has made despite external and internal pressures, attributing success to the steadfastness of the government and security forces. He also addressed ongoing complex negotiations with Iran concerning the Strait of Hormuz and regional arrangements.

Netanyahu sent a firm message to the United States and President Donald Trump, emphasizing that despite close strategic ties, Israel's existence and security are non-negotiable. "Trump is our great friend, the United States is our great ally, but I want to make clear, Israel's existence is not up for negotiation," he stated. He added that Israel will do whatever is necessary to ensure its future, with or without an agreement.

The prime minister also called for national unity ahead of the upcoming elections, acknowledging political disagreements but stressing the importance of cohesion on critical matters. He noted that polls show the right-wing bloc maintaining a stable majority of 62 seats. Netanyahu hinted at potential positive political developments in the region after the elections, urging broad public consensus to address threats and seize opportunities with neighboring countries.
