Lufthansa Group Expands Flights to Israel Ahead of Holiday Travel Surge

In anticipation of increased travel demand during the September holiday season, the Lufthansa Group is significantly expanding its flight operations in Israel. The group, which includes Lufthansa, Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, plans to increase weekly flights between Israel and Europe from 54 in August to up to 67 in September.

Lufthansa will operate two daily flights each on the Tel Aviv-Frankfurt and Tel Aviv-Munich routes. Swiss will also increase its service to two daily flights between Tel Aviv and Zurich. Austrian Airlines will expand its Tel Aviv-Vienna route to two daily flights, with a possible third flight on certain days. Brussels Airlines, which recently resumed operations in Israel, will offer three weekly flights between Brussels and Tel Aviv. Eurowings will maintain four weekly flights from Israel, including three to Dusseldorf and one to Hamburg.

This expansion comes despite ongoing security concerns and reflects the gradual return of foreign airlines to Israel. The increased flight capacity will add thousands of seats on popular routes to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium, providing Israeli travelers with more options during the busy holiday period.
