Gadi Eizenkot Urges Serious Approach on Qatar Policy, Criticizes Bennett's Political Gesture

Gadi Eizenkot, chairman of the Israeli political party Yisrael!, addressed comments made by Naftali Bennett, leader of the 'Yahad' party, who announced plans to officially declare Qatar an enemy state. Speaking at a press conference in Nir Oz, Eizenkot acknowledged Qatar's negative role against Israel, particularly in Gaza and international arenas. He emphasized that Israel must carefully evaluate and decide its policy toward Qatar in consultation with key security agencies including Mossad, the Shin Bet, and the National Security Council. Eizenkot warned against treating this decision as a political gimmick or election rhetoric, stressing that it should be a serious and well-informed cabinet decision. He highlighted his own close familiarity with the issue from his time in the security cabinet and reiterated that Qatar plays a significantly harmful role against Israel.
