Hamas Maintains Control in Gaza Despite Historic Disarmament Agreement, Experts Say

In a new episode of the program "Until the End," experts analyzed the peace council's agreement and questioned whether Israel is satisfied with the outcome and who truly controls Gaza today.

Elior Levy, head of Palestinian affairs at Kan News, and Dr. Michael Milstein, head of the Forum for Palestinian Studies at the Moshe Dayan Center, explained the daily Palestinian reality in Gaza and where Israel faltered in negotiations. Levy described Hamas as operating "in two languages," embedding its operatives in critical junctions to maintain control from the bottom up, even if the official leadership appears disconnected from Hamas.

Dr. Milstein added that despite hopes for a realistic dialogue that could reduce Israeli public frustration, the harsh truth is that Hamas still dominates every aspect of life in Gaza. He criticized the unrealistic expectations about Hamas's eradication, calling them fantasies. The peace council's proposal includes an offer to surrender weapons in exchange for thousands of dollars, but the practical impact remains uncertain.
