Haredi Protesters Led by Boychus Rebbe’s Son-in-Law Rally Against 'Netivim' Employment Center in Bnei Brak

On a hot summer afternoon in Bnei Brak, dozens of ultra-Orthodox protesters gathered on Kishon Street to demonstrate against the 'Netivim' employment center, which serves the Haredi community. The protesters accused the center of covertly recruiting yeshiva students into the Israeli military, claiming that over 2,500 young Haredim have been enlisted through its efforts in the past year.

Leading the protest was Rabbi Faivish Meislish, the son-in-law of the Boychus Rebbe, who took the microphone and vocally represented the demonstrators' concerns. The protest was marked by intense opposition to the center’s activities, which the demonstrators described as a trap aimed at undermining Torah study by encouraging enlistment.

The demonstration took place outside the offices of Netivim on Tuesday, the 21st of Av in the Hebrew calendar, despite the sweltering July-August heat. The protest reflects ongoing tensions within the Haredi community regarding military conscription and employment initiatives that intersect with state policies. The situation remains sensitive as the community debates the balance between religious study and national service.
