Hundreds Block Bnei Brak Roads in Protest Over Haredi Draft Exemptions
In response to recent Haredi protests that caused major traffic disruptions nationwide on Wednesday, hundreds of demonstrators on Friday blocked key roads in Bnei Brak in protest against ultra-Orthodox draft exemptions. The main protest point was on Rabbi Kahaneman Street, near Route 4.
The protesters included reservists and active-duty soldiers, along with mothers of fighters. They arrived waving Israeli flags, singing "Hatikvah," and carrying signs calling for equality in military service and equal burden sharing.
During the demonstration, some local residents clashed with the protesters, and police arrived to maintain order. At one point, officers blocked the street to separate the two sides and prevent the violence from escalating.
No arrests had been reported as of the latest update.
