Five-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Public Pool in Omer, Condition Critical

A five-year-old boy drowned in a public swimming pool in the town of Omer on Tuesday afternoon and is currently in critical condition. The incident occurred around 17:57 when emergency services received a report of the drowning. Paramedics and medics from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene, pulled the boy from the water, and performed advanced medical treatment and resuscitation efforts.

This tragic event adds to a recent series of drowning cases reported across Israel during the summer season, including incidents in both pools and the sea, some resulting in severe injuries or fatalities. Health authorities and rescue organizations repeatedly warn about the dangers of drowning, emphasizing that it can happen within seconds and silently, even in supervised public pools with lifeguards present.

The Ministry of Health stresses the importance of continuous adult supervision of children near water at all times.
