Avigdor Bechar Condemns Gaza Agreement as Israel’s Final Blow, Urges Immediate Action

Avigdor Bechar, speaking on 103FM on August 4, 2026, harshly criticized the recent Gaza agreement, calling it catastrophic and the "final nail in Israel's coffin." He expressed frustration over what he perceives as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s protection of Hamas, describing the militant group as a persistent existential threat that remains heavily armed and openly hostile. Bechar argued that Hamas is not dismantling its weapons and is motivated to destroy Israel, openly declaring this in public.

Bechar lamented Israel’s lack of self-interest and compassion compared to the sympathy shown toward Gaza militants. He urged Israel to send a clear message to the world and itself that Hamas cannot remain in Gaza, warning that if they do, Israel will destroy the area. Drawing a parallel to the US stance on Iran, he emphasized the need for firm resolve and clear boundaries.

He called on Israel to act decisively by entering Gaza immediately, expelling Hamas militants, and forcing the international community to take responsibility for them or face Israeli military action. Bechar expressed skepticism that the Israel Defense Forces could secure even a small buffer zone near the border and dismissed hopes that Hamas would disarm voluntarily.

Reflecting on past conflicts, including Operation Protective Edge in 2014, Bechar said he holds no compassion for Gaza’s children, who he believes are being raised to become militants. He concluded that Israel must be resolute to ensure the October 7 attacks are remembered as a catastrophe for Hamas and a turning point for Israeli security.
