Israeli Election Committee Chair Bars Parties From Receiving Voter Identity Data From Polling Observers

Noam Solberg, chair of Israel's Central Elections Committee, ruled on Tuesday that party-appointed polling observers are prohibited from reporting the identities of voters who arrive at polling stations. This decision limits political parties' ability to obtain real-time information about voting patterns at various polling locations. Solberg justified the ruling by stating that sharing details about the act of voting, including the time and type of polling station, infringes on voter privacy and violates the Privacy Protection Law.
