Israel's U18 Girls Basketball Team Completes Perfect Group Stage with Win Over Ukraine

Israel's under-18 girls basketball team secured a commanding 80-59 victory against Ukraine on Tuesday, finishing Group B with an undefeated 4-0 record. Although Israel had already clinched first place in the group during the previous round, the match was competitive and marked by many missed shots from both sides. The first half ended with Israel narrowly leading 32-30. Ukraine led for much of the third quarter, but a 5-0 run late in the period gave Israel a crucial edge. In the final quarter, standout performances from Maayan Gorin and Maya Zilbershlag propelled Israel to a dominant 31-11 finish.

Maya Zilbershlag led the Israeli team with 23 points, along with 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Tamar Carmi contributed 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. Maayan Gorin added 11 points, while Mika Kanitz scored 9. Other contributors included Or Gadot with 6 points, Rotem Shtikelro with 4 points and 9 assists, Liam Yasso with 3 points, and Mika Yanai with 2 points and 10 rebounds. The team, coached by Roy Eisenberg, will face the second-place team from Group A in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
