Israel's U18 Girls Basketball Team Wins 80-59 Over Ukraine to Finish Group Stage Unbeaten

Israel's under-18 girls basketball team secured a commanding 80-59 victory against Ukraine on Tuesday, completing the group stage with a flawless 4-0 record. The match, held as part of the ongoing tournament, saw Israel already assured of first place in Group B from the previous round. Despite a slow start marked by many missed shots from both teams, Israel led narrowly 32-30 at halftime. Ukraine briefly took the lead during the third quarter, but a 5-0 run late in the quarter gave Israel momentum. In the final quarter, standout performances from Maayan Gorin and Maya Zilbershlag propelled Israel to a dominant 31-11 finish.

Maya Zilbershlag led the Israeli scorers with 23 points, adding five rebounds and two steals. Tamar Carmi contributed 22 points along with seven rebounds, four steals, and two blocks. Maayan Gorin scored 11 points, while Mika Kenitz added nine. Other contributors included Or Gadot with six points, Rotem Shtikelro with four points and nine assists, Liam Yasso with three points, and Mika Yanai with two points and ten rebounds. The Israeli team, coached by Roy Eisenberg, will face the second-place team from Group A in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
