Environment Minister Orders Conditions for Crocodile Holding Near Israeli Prison Despite Court Injunction

Environment Minister Idit Silman instructed the Israel Nature and Parks Authority to establish conditions for holding crocodiles around the Ktziot prison facility, following a request from the Israel Prison Service. This directive was issued despite a temporary court order from the Jerusalem District Court prohibiting any actions related to the transfer or preparation of the crocodiles for relocation. In her letter to the Nature and Parks Authority, sent about two weeks before the primary elections, Silman stated that after being convinced of a security need for the crocodiles in the prison service, she requested setting conditions for their holding within the Israel Prison Service.
