Bedouin Crew Breaks Into Bnei Brak Silverware Store Before Police Patrol Scares Them Off
A burglary wave in Bnei Brak continued over the weekend, with a serious break-in at the Hashulzrim silverware store branch in the Ganei Vasha area in the city center. According to initial findings, the incident took place late Friday night, around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Unlike earlier cases in which a lone thief on an electric scooter was caught on camera, this time the suspects were described as an organized group, likely from the Bedouin diaspora, who arrived by vehicle and brought burglary tools. They forced open the store’s entrance door and began emptying the display window, stealing valuable silver items.
The group did not manage to fully enter the shop or complete the theft because a police patrol happened to pass by during a routine round and scared them away. Police said they have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the break-in.
The incident, recorded by the store’s security cameras, has angered and worried local residents and business owners, who say break-ins in the city center are increasing, especially on Saturdays. Residents also criticized what they see as weak security and questioned the effectiveness of the city’s security levy, saying, “Security levy in Bnei Brak? You’re making the Bedouins laugh,” and called for an end to the thefts and a return of safety to the streets.
