Masked thieves raid silverware shop in Bnei Brak before fleeing police
A masked gang broke into the "Hatzorfim" silverware store near Gan Varsa in Bnei Brak around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, in what local reports described as part of a worrying wave of burglaries affecting the city. The suspects were said to have taken care to watch the area repeatedly and make sure no one was approaching before acting.
After forcing open the shop’s entrance door, the thieves went straight to the display window at the front and stole valuable silver items. According to the report, they then tried to break into the store safes.
Their plan was cut short when a police patrol car happened to pass by. The unexpected arrival of the patrol apparently startled the burglars, and they fled quickly from the scene with only part of what they had intended to steal.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident. The report said the suspects were likely from the Bedouin diaspora, but no arrests were mentioned.
