Moshe Kahlon Holds Up Gilad Erdan’s New Political Party Launch

Gilad Erdan is advancing plans to establish a new political party as part of the so-called "third bloc," aiming to break the deadlock between Israel's right and left political camps. Erdan has already gathered several well-known figures around him, including Yuli Edelstein, Aliza Bloch, and Shavit Re'anen. However, the official announcement of the party's formation is being delayed.

The primary reason for the delay is the pending decision of former Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon. Erdan views Kahlon as a significant public and electoral figure whose participation would greatly strengthen the new party from its inception. Kahlon is currently considering various options, including a potential reserved spot in the Likud party, and has promised to provide Erdan with a response within the coming week.

If Kahlon agrees to join, he is expected to become one of the leading figures on the new party's list. Should he decline, Erdan is likely to proceed with the party's formation without him, but only after receiving a definitive answer. Until then, the official launch remains on hold.
