Likud Offers Knesset Spot to 7 October Massacre Survivor Aviyad Bechar

Aviyad Bechar, a survivor of the 7 October massacre who fought militants and lost his wife Dana and son Carmel in Kibbutz Be'eri, was offered a secured position on the Likud party list for the upcoming elections, according to a report by Channel 13 on Monday evening. Bechar, who also lost a leg in the attack, has since expressed hawkish views regarding Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip, advocating for an expanded offensive and the removal of Hamas from power. While his stance was well received by right-wing circles, Bechar ultimately declined the Likud's offer. Another potential candidate, former Likud member Moshe Kahlon, was also considered but has not succeeded in joining the party list so far.
