Israeli Government Extends Deadline for Police Investigations Unit Chief Selection Until August

On Monday, Israeli Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara informed the Supreme Court that the deadline for submitting candidacies for the position of head of the Police Investigations Unit (Mahash) has been extended once again. The new final date for applications is August 16, which is approximately two months before the upcoming elections. This extension allows additional time for candidates to apply for the critical role overseeing investigations into police conduct.
