Anti-Israel Activist Linked to NYC Mayor’s Wife Attacks Jews Over Holocaust Complaints

Susan Abulhawa, an outspoken anti-Israel activist known for sharing antisemitic views, recently criticized Jewish people for "complaining about the Holocaust." Her remarks came after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani faced backlash for not appointing any Jewish members to his 18-person judicial screening committee. Abulhawa claimed the Holocaust has lost its meaning globally and accused Jews of invoking it excessively while allegedly committing or supporting contemporary genocides. She also argued there is an "extreme overrepresentation" of Jews in government, media, and culture, yet they continue to "whine" about the Holocaust due to the committee’s composition.

The controversy intensified when it was revealed that Abulhawa collaborated on an art project with Mamdani’s wife, Rama Dwaiji, who recently liked social media posts praising the October 7 attacks. Abulhawa has previously described Jews using derogatory terms such as "vampires," "demons," and "ghosts." Critics quickly condemned the connection, with one social media user directly questioning Mayor Mamdani about his wife’s association with Abulhawa.

Former Brooklyn Assembly member and Americans Against Antisemitism founder Dov Hikind condemned Abulhawa’s statements as threatening to Jews and accused Mamdani and his wife of surrounding themselves with individuals harboring hatred toward the Jewish people. The incident has sparked significant public criticism amid ongoing concerns about antisemitism linked to political figures and their close associates.
