Israeli Comedian Guy Hochman Visits NYC Mayor’s Office, Criticizes Mayor Medadani Amid Rising Antisemitism

Israeli comedian Guy Hochman traveled to New York City and visited the office of Mayor Zohran Mamdani, known for his controversial stance on Israel. Hochman shared a video capturing the atmosphere in the city’s streets, expressing shock at the large Muslim presence and questioning Mamdani’s impact by saying, "God protect us, what have you done, Mamdani?" He wished the Jewish community in New York good luck amid rising tensions.

After searching for the mayor’s office, Hochman confronted two passersby and sent a pointed message to Mamdani, warning that in two years he might be back driving an Uber. Hochman humorously compared the New York City Hall building to Tel Aviv’s, noting the latter’s superior lighting. The encounter peaked when Hochman asked a local resident about their opinion of the mayor, receiving a harsh reply that Mamdani was "a terrible man" and predicting that "after the World Cup, New York will collapse," concluding that "New York is becoming like Nablus."

This visit comes amid a sharp rise in antisemitic crimes in New York City, which increased by over 70% in May compared to the previous year, largely linked to the Israel-Hamas conflict. Mayor Mamdani has openly opposed Israel as a Jewish state and credited his pro-Palestinian stance for his recent electoral victory. He also criticized U.S. policies on immigration, economic inequality, and wealth concentration during a speech marking America’s 250th anniversary, indirectly attacking the Trump administration and billionaire Elon Musk.

The tensions highlighted by Hochman’s visit reflect growing concerns about antisemitism and political polarization in New York, with the Jewish community facing increased threats and uncertainty about the city’s future under Mamdani’s leadership.
