Belz Rebbe's Great-Grandson Named Moshe Yehoshua at Celebrated Bris Ceremony

The bris ceremony of Moshe Yehoshua Rokach, the great-grandson of the Belz Rebbe, took place with significant communal and familial participation. Moshe Yehoshua is the son of Rabbi Israel Menachem Nahum Rokach, grandson of Rabbi Aharon Mordechai Rokach, who is the son-in-law of the Makova Gaavad and Rabbi Aharon Brieff of Ashdod. Prior to the bris, a "Kriyat Shema L'yanen" event was held with children from the Jerusalem Talmud Torah, followed by a festive meal called the "Vachnacht."

Honored guests at the ceremony included Rabbi Aharon Brieff, head of the Ashdod Kollel Horaah, who held the kvater role; Rabbi Aharon Mordechai Rokach, who held the "Kisei Eliyahu" (Elijah's Chair); the Belz Rebbe, who recited "Ze HaKisei"; and Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Berter, a dayan in the Rachmastrivka community, who was present at the chair. The sandekim were the Belz Rebbe and Rabbi Shalom Rokach. Blessings and the naming were led by the Makova Gaavad, with Rabbi Chaim David Shubkess, a member of the Machzikei HaDat Beit Din, standing for the blessings.

The child was named Moshe Yehoshua in honor of the great-grandfather, Rabbi Yeshuos Moshe of Vizhnitz, of blessed memory. The event was marked by a large gathering and was extensively photographed by Anshel Beak and A.M.Sh. The ceremony reflects the deep ties and traditions within the Belz Hasidic dynasty and its extended rabbinic family.
