Israeli Police Detain Bankrupt Contractor and Businessmen Over Real Estate Asset Concealment
The National Economic Crime Investigation Unit (YALAK) of the Lahav 433 division, together with the Insolvency and Economic Rehabilitation Authority of the Ministry of Justice, detained several businessmen including a contractor currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. The suspicions involve concealing ownership rights in various real estate properties valued at tens of millions of shekels and illegally transferring assets while under bankruptcy since 2012. The contractor allegedly violated his obligation to disclose and report his assets during the bankruptcy process.
Investigations revealed that the suspects operated in a sophisticated and systematic manner to hide their ownership from authorities and illicitly profit from these assets. Following the transition to open investigation and the suspects' detention, authorities seized significant property intended for confiscation in subsequent legal proceedings. The police emphasized that Lahav 433 will continue collaborating with all relevant agencies to combat economic crime.
