When asked about a deadline for the deal, Trump said the U.S. remains ready to strike at any time but prefers a peaceful resolution to save lives. He recounted conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who expressed concern that U.S. attacks on Iranian energy facilities could provoke retaliatory strikes on Gulf oil infrastructure. Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan have also been involved in efforts to promote de-escalation and restart negotiations.

Trump's announcement followed his early Sunday statement on Truth Social, where he said the U.S. was prepared to use unprecedented military force against Iran but was asked by Iran and other Middle Eastern countries to hold off due to agreed deal outlines.
