Kwame Peprah Misses Out in Israel but Scores 46 Goals in Asian Leagues

Kwame Peprah, a Ghanaian striker who briefly appeared for Hapoel Hadera in Israel during the summer of 2023, has since become a prolific scorer in Asian football. After a short and inconclusive trial with Hadera, where he played only two Toto Cup matches and scored once without appearing in the Israeli Premier League, Peprah was released before the season began. Despite his limited impact in Israel, Peprah's career flourished elsewhere.

Following his departure from Israel, Peprah signed a two-year contract with Kerala Blasters in the Indian league. Although his first season was hampered by injury, he rebounded in the next, scoring 14 goals in 43 appearances. In 2025, he moved to Svay Rieng, the Cambodian champions, where he found his stride. Peprah led the Cambodian league in scoring with 24 goals, helping Svay Rieng secure the national title.

Peprah also excelled in the AFC Challenge League, netting eight goals and guiding his team to the final, where they narrowly lost to Kuwait SC. He finished as the tournament's top scorer. Overall, Peprah was involved in 46 goals (35 scored and 11 assists) across 42 games last season. At just 25 years old, his career has spanned Ghana, South Africa, Israel, India, and Cambodia, showing a pattern of adaptation and growth.

Despite his brief and underwhelming stint in Israel, Peprah recently extended his contract with Svay Rieng until 2028, suggesting he may have found a stable platform in Southeast Asia. His journey highlights how a player can reinvent himself after setbacks, with Israeli fans likely to remember him as a fleeting figure who later achieved significant success abroad.
