Man Arrested for Leaving Molotov Cocktail at Tel Aviv Restaurant Entrance

Israeli police discovered a bottle containing flammable liquid attached by a string to the entrance of a restaurant on Kalisher Street in Tel Aviv early Sunday morning. The bottle was found by the restaurant owner, prompting police to arrive at the scene and begin collecting evidence. Using technological means, investigators quickly identified the suspect as a man in his twenties from Jaffa. He was arrested in a targeted operation by Tel Aviv police and special forces and taken in for questioning.

The suspect was brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, which extended his detention until August 3, 2026. This incident is part of a recent series of attacks involving thrown grenades. On the same morning, a fragmentation grenade was thrown at a commercial complex in Hadera, with police investigating whether the target was a new branch of the Japnika chain, currently under construction. These attacks are believed to be linked to conflicts between criminal organizations targeting Japnika branches.

The police continue to investigate these violent incidents amid rising tensions related to organized crime in the region.
