Israeli Police Foil Arson Attack in Jerusalem, Arrest Two Minors with Molotov Cocktails

Israeli police officers from the Oz station in Jerusalem thwarted a planned attack in the Arnona neighborhood on the ninth of Av. During a focused patrol, officers noticed two masked minors from the Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood acting suspiciously. When the suspects saw the police vehicle, they quickly threw a bag into nearby bushes. A search revealed two glass bottles suspected to be Molotov cocktails. The two minors were immediately arrested and brought in for questioning.

Initially, the court released the suspects under restrictive conditions. However, after thorough investigation, prosecutors gathered solid evidence and filed a prosecutorial statement against the minors, who are now under house arrest pending formal indictment. This incident is part of a series of similar attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank in recent months.

In related security operations, seven suspects were arrested in the Gush Etzion area for throwing Molotov cocktails and stones, and three Palestinians were detained in the West Bank after attacking a Border Police base. These arrests followed extensive intelligence work and technological surveillance, highlighting ongoing efforts to prevent violent attacks in the region.
