Tal Meir Warns of Immigration Crisis If Israeli Left Gains Power

Tal Meir, speaking on Channel 14's Israel HaBoker program, warned that Israel could face a severe immigration crisis similar to Spain's if the political left comes to power. She linked the ongoing migration crisis in Spain to comments made by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot, who advocated for allowing 150,000 Palestinians from Gaza to work in Israel as part of improving the economic and security situation. Meir described the situation in Spain as a cautionary example, highlighting the collapse of the left in Europe due to its immigration policies and the resulting social hysteria.

Meir emphasized that European leaders, including 22 prominent figures, have criticized Spain's immigration approach, which she said unfairly blames Israel. She stressed Israel's unique ability to maintain its borders in all directions and warned that adopting similar policies to those in Spain would lead to chaos. Meir explicitly stated that if the left, represented by figures like Eizenkot, gains control, Israel will face dangerous consequences.

Quoting Eizenkot, Meir noted his call for a firm security stance alongside economic improvements in Gaza, including allowing tens of thousands of Palestinians to work in Israel daily. However, she countered this by pointing to Spain's experience as a warning, calling such policies "madness" and urging Israel to preserve its sovereignty and security against migration threats.

Meir's remarks reflect deep concerns within parts of Israeli society about the potential impact of left-wing immigration and security policies, framing the Spanish crisis as a dire example of what could happen in Israel if similar approaches are adopted.
